Depletion of the Ozone layer 

By traveling from Ground to Vertical Atmosphere (Envelop of Gases) of the Earth; we find different Atmospheric Layers at different heights, the layers (Troposphere, Stratosphere, Mesosphere, Thermosphere or Ionosphere, Exosphere) are also called Atmospheric Structure.

The lowermost layer of the Atmosphere is called Troposphere, which extends up to 11 kilometers from the ground surface of the Earth, contains about 75% total air Mass and about 99% Atmospheric moisture (water vapor), it is the layer in which all weather changes (Cloud, Rain, Snow, Wind) take place. In Troposphere Temperature and Pressure decrease with height, that's why The Mountain Climbers need to take Oxygen to climb world highest Peeks.

Above the Troposphere there a comes called Stratosphere, which goes 15 to 50 km from Earth Surface, In this layer there is Constant temperature about -80 C and no weather change takes place, therefore, Airplanes fly in this layer.

 the Ozone Layer is Part of  Stratosphere 

is very low Between 20 to 40 kilometers above the Earth Surface, there is a layer of Ozone gas (Ozone layer of 20 kilometers in thick).

Ozone layer acts as a Shield against Ultraviolet rays which are being emitted continuously by the Sun. The Ultra-violet has too Short wavelength, (less than 400 NM) therefore, the Radiation can't be seen with the naked eye. (Human eye can see 400 Nano-meter to 700 Nano-meter of wavelength).

Ozone layer works as an Umbrella that protects life from the harmful effects of Ultraviolet Radiation, which cause various disorders,  Such as it damages the DNA of Plants and Animals, it also leads to the Skin Cancer and Sunburn in the Man.

The Ozone Layer is Depleted (Deteriorated) by various Gases Such as CFCs (Chlorofluorocarbons) and Helon gases etc. these gases are emitted from Aerosol Sprays, Refrigerators, Air-Conditioners the Ozone layer.

Measures 

Use of Ceiling fan than air-conditioner that is smoother in Nature.

CFC's are used in refrigeration with the trade name of Freon. It should not be released in the Atmosphere.
