Non-Material Pollution The Non-material Pollution is of the following types: (i) Radiation Pollution. (ii) Noise Pollution. (iii) Thermal Pollution. Radiation Pollution. The Pollution which takes place through X - Rays, Cosmic-Rays, Ultraviolet Rays, and Atomic rays is called Radiation Pollution. Some Radioactive elements emit Alpha, Beta, and Gamma Rays . Alpha- Rays and Beta Rays, do not penetrate deeply into the body tissues; however, the Gamma Rays Penetrate into the Body-tissues and Cause Damage, even though sometimes death may occur. Because of radiation Cancer and Leukemia, diseases are produced . not only this but a Change in chromosomes and genes ( mutation ) occurs, which causes a change in the genetic characteristics of the New-generation.
